Cadence
The white recording studio was splashed with color. The woven dream of purple sands and a golden ocean unwound and came undone onto the canvas walls. Not music, but some other blinding light, the eternity opening up with the colors sinking down past walls and boundaries of sight and mind, reached on, pas, through everything and the places in between. Trapped. Opening up.
She sank into color. It consumed her, overflowing and spilling out of her skin and coloring outside her lines. Purple tears swam into green blood trickling from her mouth, bile in love and wonder for these colors. Tangible dreams caught in her hair and pressed under her hands.
“Path!” Bursting down the door, he reached for her, cradling the broken dreams. Colors oozed onto him like slime, but impossibly light, bright, caught between his sound and his sight, weightless intangible matter of water and sunlight, the mist of a rainbow, with the thickness of a foggy night. His eyes jumped with fright.
She laughed through the pleasure and delight. “He made it through… I did it right.”
